About Me

Tarra Buluran

My real name is Ma. Cecilia C. Buluran-Dulay and Tarra Buluran is my most valued pen name. I was born on December 17, 1971 at UERM Hospital in Quezon City and the eldest among three children of Ricardo and Amelita Buluran who are both natives of Bulacan. I’m married to Joselito Dulay for eleven years and have two children named Paula Lucille, 11, and Jose Miguel, 6.

My elementary years were spent at St. James Academy in Plaridel, Bulacan and at St. Martin de Porres Catholic School in Guiguinto, Bulacan. I finished my highschool at Regina Carmeli College in Malolos City, Bulacan. I graduated from Centro Escolar University in Malolos City with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.

I have been working at the Professional Regulation Commission as a psychometrician since January 16, 1995 and am holding a permanent position of Professional Regulations Officer I.

My days are spent mostly with my family and my work and I’m equally fascinated with romance novel writing, charcoal painting, poetry and prose writing, cooking, debut and wedding celebration emceeing, dancing, training designing, and cologne and perfume making.

I’m a novelist and currently write novels for My Special Valentine of Bookware Publishing Corporation. My published books in 2007 were Ikaw ang Tanging Pangarap, Kung May Pag-ibig Pa, and Listen To Your Heart.  In 2008, I had two books published, Meant To Be Mine and Kapalit ay Pag-ibig Mo.  My latest manuscript submitted has just been approved with tentative title, Sa Mukha Ng Kahapon.

When I was in second year highschool, I made my own comic story with my drawings as well entitled, Enough is Enough, My Friend. I was very happy because my neighborhood friends appreciated it so much and even asked me to make another story. In college where we were asked to show the differences between direct and indirect counseling through a short play, I was in-charge of the script and eventually became the director as well where I had to match every scene with a dramatic background music. But the best of it, my classmates whom I gave the lead roles, fell in love with each other and have been keeping the script I made until now.

I also love cooking. My invented recipe, Mushroom Pork with Broccoli, had been chosen as one of the thirty winners of the 2nd Basta’t Sarap Tomato Recipe Contest by the Del Monte Kitchenomics culinary art experts in 2004.

I attended a course on Training Design on May 19, 20, and 21, 2004 sponsored by the Civil Service Commission and a course on Cologne and Perfume Making on September 12, 2003 by the Technology and Livelihood Resource Center.

I am also a writing contributor to www.triond.com. All my articles can be viewed by searching through the net, articles of Tarra Buluran.

My other interests include collecting clippings from newspapers and magazines about natural beauty regimen, watching movies especially those with artistic emphasis on love and romance and anything goes with suspense-thriller, vein-motivating, and horror movies like dracula, zombies, and psycho-killers.

My favorite actors and actresses, both in local and foreign, include Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, Richard Gutierrez, Lindsay Lohan, Reese Witherspoon, Julia Roberts, Scarlet Johansson, Brandon Routh, 2 Christophers (Lee and Reeve), Keanu Reeves, Michael J. Fox, and Johnny Depp.

The worth-remembering movies for me are those with ardent impact like Titanic, Ghost, Sound of Music, The Notebook, My Bestfriend’s Wedding, If Only, Sweet November, A Walk to Remember, Moments of Love, The Cutting Edge, Dirty Dancing, Mannequin, Pretty Woman, Superman, Night of the Zombies, P2, and Dracula.

The authors who make me inspired are Melanie Milburne, Agatha Christie, Barbra Cartland, and Stephen King. Local goes with Maurice Arcache and Cory Quirino.

I love doing extra stuffs at home to fascinate my children especially when my mood is high on the moon. I build structures of houses out of empty boxes for them to play with all day long, invent children’s play like board and hand games, cook or bake something unusual for lunch on weekends to enhance their appetite, or making our own Apple dip for self-made fries while watching movies in the living room.

I love being with my family especially when everybody’s present at the dining table. I make sure that I embrace my husband and children as much as I can in a day because we can never turn back the time that has been lost for nothing. We also find time to visit my parents in Guiguinto where I, brother Roni, and sister Christine were successfully raised up. We also invite my mother-in-law to come over for a vacation so my children will be able to get close to her.

We live in a peaceful place where most of my neighbors are my relatives; The Donado Family (Tito Mike, Tita Aleng, Mailes, Aebi, Nichol, Paolo, and Raphael), The Ribaya Family (Tito Pat, Tita Lani, Roi, and Rio), and The Grimaldo Family (Tita/Ninang Nida, Rina, and Matthew). Sometimes almost half of our Saturday morning is spent visiting them one by one though we enjoy every minute of it.

Life is a journey along misty road toward a broad horizon. It is a choice that we must take gradually because success in general, is achieved at the right time with the Lord“….Tarra Buluran
